Krav Maga Survival is actively using knock-down karate from the Kyokushin and traditional boxing in training. These are regarded as tools for achieving the right fighting movements and gaining the ability to withstand the physical stress of a “combat contact” (Krav Maga) situation.
Strategy and tactics against single and multiple opponents in various situations and surroundings (i.e. in car, bus, elevator, offices, airplane or during demonstrations) are being taught in training.
The solution is based on standing techniques,- groundfighting knowledge will only be part of the instructor and master programme.
Krav Maga Survival
The reason for focusing on stand-up fighting lies in the danger of fighting on the ground in a “no rules” situation with possibly more than one opponent. This can be lethal even when fighting small opponents as a kick to your head even from a light opponent can be extremely dangerous. More effective and very simple would be the use of a weapon such as a stone or an ashtray when you are not “mobile”. Even most policemen and soldiers are not “prepared” for the ground as their equipment would make it impossible to move on the ground or making a simple roll without getting injured. It is hence essential that the student receives intensive training in withstanding the take-down of an opponent.
The Student will receive instruction in/learn about:
Knowledge of targetpoints for optimal impact
Knowledge of recognizing critical situations
Fighting under extreme pressure
Positioning, timing and fighting experience
Response to extreme stress
Self defence – “Hagana Atsmit”
Controlled situation
At the moment the system is actively using techniques from the following systems:
existing Krav Maga systems,
Jiu Jitsu,
Sambo,
Judo,
Aikido,
Karate,
Boxing,
Thai-/Kickboxing,
